Srinagar: Yet another woman committed suicide in the Kashmir valley on Sunday.
Reports said Sara consumed some poisonous substance in her home at Kangan in Ganderbal district today. She was rushed to SK Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) at Soura where she died.
It was not immediately known why she took this extreme step.
At an average of one person, mostly woman, are committing suicide in Kashmir valley daily despite a fatwa by the Ulema, who declared it an act against the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAAW).
A number of social organizations have also expressed concern over the increasing incidents of suicide in the state.
